The card for the show is uninspiring. The World Cup tournament, which could have been something quite interesting, has turned out to be worthless. The DX vs. Brothers of Destruction rivalry remains flat if not outright embarrassing, and after coming up short three times, Samoa Joe is certainly not winning the WWE Championship from AJ Styles. He’s only there to fill Daniel Bryan’s spot.
Nevertheless, WWE can take a bad show and make the most out of it if it avoids mistakes and has the following things happen at the event.
#1 Dean Ambrose must cost Seth Rollins the World Cup
After this awkward and unnecessary segment with Shane McMahon, it’s obvious that a SmackDown superstar is going to win the World Cup tournament. The prospect of any of these four staples of the blue brand making the jump to Monday nights is remote at best.
The World Cup tournament means little, but Seth Rollins is the appropriate winner all the same. That’s unlikely to happen now. However, WWE can make the most of his loss by having the Architect make it all the way to the final and then losing because of Dean Ambrose. It’s the next logical step to continue their feud.
In fact, Dean Ambrose costing Seth Rollins the World Cup would make it seem more important than WWE has made it seem over the course of the past month. An accolade isn’t worthless if you’re angry that somebody cost you the chance to get it, after all.
#2 The Bar must retain the SmackDown Tag Team Championship
The New Day’s act is staler than week-old bread at this point. They’re all good wrestlers to be sure and their title matches are always worth watching, but their characters and act make for an eyesore when watching them on television.
There’s more to be gained with The Bar as tag team champions. The prospect of a feud with The Usos is a welcome one. It would be fresh and allow The Usos to come back to prominence after floundering following their title loss at WrestleMania.
There’s also the Big Show to consider. This alliance he’s made with The Bar is at least a novel one. We still don’t know why he did it and that could be a point of interest over the next few weeks or months.
All of these things mean that the titles are in better hands with The Bar than The New Day.
#3 Braun Strowman MUST win the Universal Championship
It doesn’t matter how he does it. If he beats Brock Lesnar only by countout, that’s fine. The most important thing is that Braun Strowman walks out of Crown Jewel with the red belt over his massive shoulder. It’s long overdue, and Brock Lesnar regaining the championship would put Raw back in the mess it was before SummerSlam.
The red brand finally looks like it’s heading in the right direction after six months of boredom and mediocrity following WrestleMania. To ensure that course correction, though, the top title on the show needs to be seen weekly and be put into important angles. Even during Roman Reigns’ run with it, the title was overshadowed by the random Shield reunion angle.
With Braun Strowman as titleholder, a first-time ever champion vs. champion match with AJ Styles at Survivor Series would be in the immediate future. Afterward, a feud with Drew McIntyre would be in the cards, which is nothing if not an interesting prospect. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins also lurk on the periphery.
Those four stars are more than capable of carrying Monday nights. There’s no need for another absentee Lesnar title reign. Choosing that course would be another disaster to a red brand that badly needs rebuilding.

title: “3 Things That Must Happen At Crown Jewel” ShowToc: true date: “2022-12-19” author: “Katie Haley”
While WWE and the wrestlers alike will be relieved once the event is done and dusted, fans will be hoping to see some memorable performances in the ring so that they can have some positive memories of the show.
Like the company’s first event in Saudi Arabia, the match card is full of part-time wrestling legends such as The Undertaker, Kurt Angle, and Shawn Michaels, and old workhorses of the WWE like Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio.
While the WWE will try their level best to ensure that they pull off one of the best shows of the year in the Kingdom, there are a few things that must happen at the show to build on the storylines that have been continuing on WWE television.
Let’s take a look at 3 things which must happen at Crown Jewel.
#3 Kurt Angle makes Dolph Ziggler tap out
Kurt Angle will be making his return to singles competition in Saudi Arabia at Crown Jewel. The veteran superstar will be fighting one of Raw’s top heels in the initial stage of the World Cup.
Dolph Ziggler, who beat Dean Ambrose to qualify for the World Cup, will be accompanied by Drew McIntyre in his match against the Olympic Gold Medalist.
Even though the odds will be against Angle, especially given McIntyre’s presence at ringside, it is still very likely that he will progress to the next round to set up a dream match between himself and Seth Rollins.
If Angle does beat Dolph Ziggler at Crown Jewel, then the WWE should go all out and make the former Intercontinental Champion tap out to the Ankle Lock to award the victory to Kurt Angle.
Not only will this be a dent in the Showoff’s reputation and ego, but also be a fitting return for Angle to singles competition.
#2 Drew McIntyre intervenes in the Universal Championship match
The Universal Championship will see two of the most dominant men in the WWE collide for the biggest prize in the company.
As soon as Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar come face to face at Crown Jewel, all hell will break loose, and the match is guaranteed to be one of the most physical of the night.
While that will be the case, there will also be a chance of the Scottish Psychopath, Drew McIntyre making an appearance at some point during or after the match, especially considering he will already be at the show accompanying Dolph Ziggler during the World Cup.
While McIntyre could either take out Strowman and cost him the title, or simply attack him after his victory, it’d much more interesting if he actually helped The Monster Among Men to win the belt.
His reason for helping Strowman win could be as simple as wanting to take the title away from the Monster Among Men when the two men clash and McIntyre beats him.
#1 Randy Orton helps Jeff Hardy win his match against The Miz
Randy Orton is one of the best of heels in the WWE right now. Everything he touches turns to gold, and we may never see a heel like him again after he calls it a day.
Randy Orton helping Jeff Hardy win against The Miz sounds silly, but it could actually happen at Crown Jewel. However, instead of attacking The Miz and allowing Hardy to pin him, Orton could attack Hardy himself, causing a disqualification for The Miz and handing the victory to Hardy.
This could be part of his plan to meet the Charismatic Enigma in the semi-final after he has already attacked and injured him on several occasions. Orton could then go on to take out a battered Hardy before heading to the final.
This would also help protect The Miz’s image and status as he could go on a rant how victories were stolen from him at Super Showdown, and then again at Crown Jewel.
Only a true heel would pull off such a tactic, and Orton is the only heel smart enough to pull it off.
